Robert Croskey Fulton was born on October 23, 1873 in Waukegan and baptized at Christ Episcopal Church in Waukegan on May 10, 1874.  Robert Croskey Fulton was a professional musician.  He was the organist for the Christ Episcopal Church.  He studied the piano and organ in Chicago and began teaching piano and organ in Waukegan in 1895.  A promotional flyer advertising his 1898-98 teaching season offered one 45 minute lesson per week for 10 weeks for $5.00.  Two 45 minute lessons per week for 10 weeks for $9.00.  His studio was located at 137 N. Genesee St. in Waukegan.   Robert married Grace M. Kines in Lake County, ILL., on September 9, 1899.  By the 1903 Waukegan City Directory, Robert is listed as a piano teacher with studio and residence at 210 Grand Ave.  He is also listed as the organist for the First M. E. Church.  In the 1908-09 Waukegan City Directory Robert is listed at the Director of the North Shore Musical College and of the Fulton Orchestra.  By the 1910 census he is listed as a retail merchant of pianos.  In the 1920 census Robert’s occupation is listed as a manufacturer of motors.

By the death of his Mother Elizabeth, Robert was living in California and by the 1930 census he was living in Pasadena, California and his occupation was again musician and teacher.  Robert Croskey Fulton died in Altadena, California on November 3, 1949.   Grace also died in California on November 29, 1961 at age 83.   Robert and Grace had six children; Dorothy, Lloyd, Frances, Burton, and William and Russell.
